Choose your original hand-thrown ceramic bud vase from the harlequin limited series. Standing at just 9cm high (3.5 inches) by 7cm in diameter (2.75 inches) this small but beautiful piece makes a big impact in any home decor. Three different colourways are available: 1. Blue - with yellow & baby blue 2. Red - with yellow & green 3. Orange - with dark blue & baby blue How it was made Hand-thrown in white stoneware clay this vessel was made by me at my Mallards Pottery Studio in Cambridgeshire. I wanted to create a colourful piece in a design that could be varied using different combinations. I first drew the design onto the unfired clay. Three coats of velvet underglaze gives it a distinctive matt finish - this is a slow work that requires a steady hand & a lot of patience. After its first firing (bisque) I poured a white glossy zircon glaze on the inside & then fired to over 1200 degrees centigrade so that it becomes vitrified. This holds water nicely should you want to place a few well chosen mini flowers in it. It is strong, lightweight & a pleasure to hold.
