Imperfect Skin VIII wheel-thrown porcelain mug The mug is from my series Imperfect Skin, inspired by human skin, bones, veins, scars, tattoos & all the imperfections that make us unique. (12oZ/350mL; height 3.7/9.5cm ; diameter approx. 3.5/9cm) The material used for this mug is high quality porcelain, thrown on a pottery wheel. The mug is decorated with handmade reliefs & hand-painted illustrations. It is glazed with food-safe glazes, glossy & matte. If you take care not to break it, this mug can last forever & would make a great gift for you or a loved one; there will never be a second like it. Every stage of my process from coming up with an idea, throwing on the wheel, drawing, decorating, glazing, to packaging the finished product is done by me. With my packaging, I prioritize the fragile objects' security so that they can travel to their new owners safe & undamaged. At the same time, I also aim for the package's aesthetic to match that of the object it carries so I always dedicate time & attention to decorating the boxes as well. Even though the safe transportation of my pieces requires the use of bubble wrap & styrofoam, as much of my packaging materials as possible are reused & recycled, usually sourced clean from other packages.
