This little vase started out on my wheel here in my Pittsboro studio. The lip was altered during its leather hard stage. This piece is 4.25 inches tall & glazed with several of my green crystalline glazes. The inside is glazed with a glossy clear liner glaze. All of the crystalline glazes that I use are original glazes invented myself. Each crystalline glazed piece is unique in that they cannot be duplicated. The crystals are never the same from one piece to another. I use high fire porcelain, & fire to a peak temperature of 2350oF - aka cone 11. What this means is that the porcelain is fully vitrified & watertight even without the glazes. Because of the way that I fire & the glazes that I use, all my work is fully functional - watertight, lead free, & microwave safe. Dishwashing may etch the glaze surface over time, so I recommend hand washing. Bud Vase Emerald Green Crystalline Glaze
