Description
This mug started out on my wheel here in my Pittsboro studio. It is 6.5 inches tall & holds 15oz of your favorite beverage. It is glazed with a combination of my glazes that results in this Malibu blue gradient, & the inside of the mug is glazed with a clear liner glaze. All of the crystalline glazes that I use are original glazes invented myself. Each crystalline glazed piece is unique in that they cannot be duplicated. The crystals are never the same from one piece to another. I use high fire porcelain, & fire to a peak temperature of 2350oF - aka cone 11. What this means is that the porcelain is fully vitrified & watertight even without the glazes. Because of the way that I fire & the glazes that I use, all my work is fully functional - watertight, lead free, & microwave safe. Dishwashing may etch the glaze surface over time, so I recommend hand washing. Mug Zuma Blue Crystalline Glaze, 15Oz
