Natural Wood Pendant Hawthorn/Uath Unique "Secret Sigil" Ogham Design! One of my "Secret Sigil" range of unique pendants, with a symbol marked onto the back of the piece to be hidden from view. The Ogham symbol corresponding to the tree which furnished the wood for each pendant is burned into the wood at the back, in the same way that Ogham was marked along the edge of stones so there is no centre line, which makes them less obvious than when the symbols are marked in the usual way... hence the name "Secret Sigil". This particular pendant is made from a tiny plank cut from the branch of a Hawthorn tree, & shows perfectly the rich colour attained by this wood if properly seasoned. I don't have to force the wood to change colour from the pale hue of freshly cut timber to the warm shades of seasoned wood, it's not a difficult process, I just have to leave it for long enough... & it's well worth the wait! There are some tiny traces of insect atack, adding to the rustic charm. The silky smoothness of the surface just begs to be touched & I defy anyone to be able to wear one of these pendants without constantly stroking it. Hawthorn has a strong Faery connection, so it would be ideal for anyone practising Faery Wicca, & it also makes a perfect all-round happiness charm, making it perfect for anyone. These "Secret Sigil" pendants are popular with anyone who prefers to be a little more discreet about their beliefs & doesn’t always want to wear anything too overtly pagan. On the most simple level they're a lovely way to carry a piece of nature with you throughout your day, & if you choose the wood type for the magical qualities you require & wear it with intent, then a pendant like this one will surround you in a bubble of sacred space & envelop you in its subtle influence. The Celtic Ogham symbols marked on the back can be a constant reminder of your Celtic heritage & help you to invoke the powers of the tree spirit. If you don’t want to wear it then you can carry it in your pocket or just hang it somewhere in your home or car, & they also look great in bunches. It would make a perfect gift for anyone born in the right month according to the Celtic tree calendar, but as they used a lunar calendar I’ll leave you to work out when that would be as it varies slightly from year to year. It has been finished with a light coat of oil & will come strung on a waxed cotton cord, so it contains no animal products or metal parts. Vegan friendly & totally organic, no tree was cut to furnish the wood & no machines were involved in the crafting process. Hawthorn, or May as it is also known, is excellent for magic to do with general happiness, because it dispels negative energy & strife & brings hope. It is useful for cleansing & purification, & is believed to ease enforced chastity & increase male potency. It is also said to bring good luck in fishing.
