Beautiful Arts & Crafts style hammered brass gimbal Candlestick. The piece can be hung on a wall or can sit on the table like a chamberstick. The Gimbal style of candle holder was designed to be used on ships & the design allows the candle to swing with the movement of the ship. The piece has a green felt on the backing/ base. Condition: This is a used vintage / antique item. I am estimating it is over 100 years old, & it does show some wear, use & aging. The copper has a lovely warm aged patina. The candlestick holder well has some minor denting, & does have old wax residue in the well from prior use. There is some wear to the felt on the back. Measurements: 8 1/4 x 5. projects approx 4 from wall. Markings: unmarked Age: I am estimating this is from the early 20th century likely the 1910's.
