Origin: This small vase was made by artisans in Santa Maria Tlahuitoltepec, Oaxaca in the Sierra Mixe. Technique: Made using local clay from Tlahuitoltepec. Cooked in open fire in a natural finish with subtle textures & burn marks adorning its surface. Variations in color & size of each piece is part of the artisanal & hand-made process. Wind, fire temp, debris, & weather all play a role in the finished look. Just like snowflakes, no two pieces are the same. Description: This beautiful small vase is completely unglazed, but due to its extensive polish, it comes off as glazed.
