Description
This vase measures 4.5x4.5x7.75. This piece is a real beauty! I used a traditional Japanese firing technique called Raku to create this piece. This is a quick firing process that involves taking the work out of the kiln while it is still glowing red hot. The piece is then put in a container with a tight fitting lid, often a metal garbage bin, & covered with a combustible material such as newspaper. The heat of the ceramic piece ignites the newspaper & then the lid is put back on causing the oxygen to be removed.
