A beautiful antique French ceiling light, in milk opaque glass with brown frilled edges, vintage French chic at it's best. This dates from the 20's/ 30's & is in great usable condition, no chips or nibbles on the glass & totally intact, nothing missing. The large central brass light fitting, hanging chain with brass ceiling rose & original "griffe" are both still in place. Ready to use, just add a bulb. It is a stunning bright shade of dark brown around the feathered edges, fairly unique in it's style, I have never seen another lustre exactly like this before. This is a particularly heavy & thick glass, about twice the weight of previous shades I have found similar in style. These exquisite shades are vintage, with minute details & imperfections, the glass having subtle differences in thickness, air bubbles & color throughout. No two are the same, such is the joy of older style pieces, completely different to modern reproductions. It hangs with an adjustable length of gold electrical wire, the brass ceiling rose is held in place with a small screw. Height 5" (10cm), Total height with chain 15" (38cm) diameter 11" (27.5cm) weight 1040g I have left the brass fittings as I have found them, only washing the dust off, so it may polish brighter if desired. I would always advise an expert look it over before fitting in your home. It has been fully tested & works here in France on a 220/240v system, I think you just need appropriate light bulbs for your region, but please check with an expert just to be safe.
