Hand picked from the depths of Salem Harbor in Massachusetts, this scallop shell has been meticulously cleaned, polished, painted, & sealed by Nightingale Arts. Nightingale's Heidi Chouinard has used acrylic to paint a peppermint pinwheel on the inside of the shell. She has added reflective mica on the white stripes for a touch of holiday twinkle. The outside of the shell has been painted with metallic silver, & the painting is protected with a coat of glossy sealer to ensure steadfastness. The shell hangs by a flexible gold colored wire that has been twisted & wrapped by hand. A single pearl is strung on the wire, visible on the outside. Measuring roughly 5.5 X 6.5, this scallop shell ornament has a unique sense of seaside New England to add to your tree! The ornament is reversible & can be hung any way you wish - whatever side suits your tree best! While we created our shell ornaments with Christmas trees in mind, we think they would make merry decor hanging on your wall as well.
