Photo by Ibrahima Diallo (@nycpassion) On July 29th 2013, the weather was close to 82 degrees Fahrenheit. I had just finished a tour in Queens, & was heading home in Brooklyn. The subway station offered a nice repeated pattern & vanishing points, so I decided to wait for no traffic to capture it. I waited a couple of minutes before the two girls went past me. They had such great energy, & I was pretty certain they would be going to Coney Island since one of them had a towel over her head. I figured I could wait until they were at the end of the corridor to capture the shot I had already called in my mind The pursuit of the American Dream. Meanwhile, I needed to pray for no one to come in from either side of the frame or the girls to turn back. With my arm blocking people to go past me, the other holding the camera I waited until they reached the end to shoot, & luckily no one was coming out way. When I turned back there were 10 people waiting for my arm & shot to proceed. All of them seemed pretty pleased to have been passively participants in making the shot possible.
