The Hina Katakuchi bowl in red by Japanese woodworker Tomoaki Nakano is a beautiful sculptural vessel thanks to its dramatic spout. First this piece is hand turned on the lathe before being sanded & polished. The next stage is the application of lacquer applied to the exterior of the vessel. Tomoaki focuses on applying thin layers leading up to a final thick layer to give a beautiful smooth finish. The red interior & exterior is contrasted by the top edge that is slightly darker in colour. This object is certainly one of a kind. Approx Dimensions: 12cm Length x 9cm Width x 7cm Height.
