For sale here is this fantastic original vintage East German 1960s Sofa Great & original condition. DESCRIPTION, This fantastic looking mid century sofa was made in Germany sometime in the 1960s we bought it in Hamburg last month. At the time of listing I was offering the pair of chairs that came with this sofa in my eTsy store. probably the best sofa I have bought this year, This very stylish sofa is typical of the style & design from this German era of the 1960s. The standout design feature are the sloping arms, very fashionable at the moment & in amazing condition. Everything about this sofa screams quality they would bring a lot of style to any room in the house. The wood on the arm is a lovely dark colour which matches the legs all of the wood is in good condition. The Fabric is all original & is grey in colour but has a slight lilac hue, it also has a wave like design motif typical of fabrics used in the 1960s. It suits the sofa very well. You can see from the depth of the seat that there is a large spring mechanism in the seat which makes for a very comfortable sofa. Another nice feature is that The sofa metamorphosis into a put-you-up bed. Like most of these German sofas the back panel is a plain muslin material. This style of sofa is very fashionable at the moment, chairs & sofas from this period like these have become something of a style icon. CONDITION. As it is at the moment, it is in excellent condition. The frames are very strong & sturdy & there is no damage to the main structure of the chairs, no woodworm, no wobbly arms or legs. All of the wood is in good condition. The fabric is in good condition & odour free. Finally I will add that they are very comfortable. the seat is sprung but firm & the shape of the back is very supportive.
