For sale here is this fantastic pair of original vintage East German 1960s/70s Armchairs. They have been recovered sometime in the last 20/30 years in a wonderful vibrant emerald green fabric which I think suits the chairs very well. DESCRIPTION, This fantastic looking pair of mid century chairs were made in Germany sometime in the 1960s we bought them in Hamburg last month. This very stylish pair of chairs are typical of the style & design from this post modern German era of post modernism 1960s. At the time of listing I have the sofa which came in with this three-piece suite in my eBay store. I have had this model of Chair before & both times they sold to an interior design company. They have generous proportions with rounded shoulders & upturned slope to the arm & they have a deep seat which contains a spring system with at least 38 springs inside. Then they have for tapering turned wooden legs which lightens the overall look of the chair. Beautiful chairs in lovely original condition. The colour of the wood is a nice mid brown colour on the legs, all of the wood is in good condition. The fabric is Soft & tactile & odour free. They are a fantastic looking pair of mid century chairs, if these were covered in a designer fabric they could easily they sold in the London shop form1500+ This style of chair are very fashionable at the moment, chairs from this period like these have become something of a style icon & are now being reproduced but the new ones do not have any of the style or atmosphere of these old ones. CONDITION. As they are at the moment, they are in excellent condition. The frames are very strong & sturdy & there is no damage to the main structure of the chairs, no woodworm, no wobbly arms or legs. All of the wood is in good condition. The fabric is in good condition & odour free. Finally I will add that they are comfortable. the seat is sprung but firm & the shape of the back is very supportive.
