For sale here, buy it now, is this lovely pair of vintage East German 1960s Bartholomew cocktail chairs. DESCRIPTION, This great looking pair of mid century chairs were made in Germany sometime in the 1960s they looks like they have been recovered sometime in the last 20 years. The colour of the fabric is a nice neutral light golden wheat colour. We bought them in Berlin last month. This very stylish pair of chairs are typical of the style & design from this post modern East German era of the mid 1950s/60s. The shape of the back flaring out from the bottom towards the top is the style known as a Bartholomew cocktail chair They are a fantastic looking pair of mid chairs which ever way you look at them, a nice design details is the Barcelona leg, they are splayed outwards, understated but a really effective way of lightening the whole chair. THEY ARE VERY COMFORTABLE This style of chair are very fashionable at the moment, chairs from this period like these have become something of a style icon. so much so they are being reproduced more than any other style at the moment. CONDITION. As they are at the moment, they are in very good condition. The frames are very strong & sturdy & there is no damage to the main structure of the chairs. All of the wood is in good condition, the colour of the wood is a warm honey colour. The fabric is in excellent condition & the colour has not faded at all.
