Vintage Bakelite desk or bedside light, dark brown. It has a four-lobed base on which there is a matchbox holder & small ashtray & the little switch which is pale pink. The curvy stem has a brass ring halfway up & dentil course detail under the lampholder. It is working, has a new maroon 2 core flex (matching the original flex as closely as possible) & has an old brown Bakelite UK plug fitted. The lampholder is the original, also Bakelite. The lampholder is UK B22 fitting. Shown with a modern maroon/plum coloured shade, included if wanted. Material: Bakelite, metal Origin: stamped inside base on switch Ward Goldstone, English plastic design from c. 1950, switch GB patent 698547 Size: 10" high 6" wide, 4" deep Condition: very good, please note that the prong on one side of the lamp holder is chipped at the end, see closeup photo.
