Description
Antique Early 19th Century Treen Bowl Plate Platter Circa 1820 Georgian A stunning little English shallow footed plate that is from the early part of the 19th century, circa 1800 to 1820 maybe a little earlier. Being turned from a sycamore or elm wood. The centuries of age has caused the wood to dry & become very light in weight. This small plate/ bowl has been well used & the color & patina are just stunning with a slightly irregular shape from age. As you can see from the color & patina this item has been well used throughout its life. There is evidence of it possibly being attached to something else at one time as there are three small holes to the underside rim & two small filled hold to the centre of the base. Our belief is that it has been used an offertory/collection plate in a church. It makes for a wonderful display item, the choices for display being endless. Perfect for the country interior seasonal display. Size: 7 3/4 inch diameter (19.5 cm), 1 1/4 inch high (3 cm) Condition: Good, aged original patina & coloring. Old abrasions to the sides as one would expect. ITEM ID:14194 Antique Early 19Th Century Treen Bowl Plate Platter Circa 1820 Georgian Folk Art
