This is a small, squat pumpkin that has been glazed in a rusty orange red glaze with speckles. A realistic stem has been added on top & glazed in brown. It is approximately 3 tall & 3 wide. I have attempted to create a realistic shape & form with my pumpkins without using a mold so each one is different. They are hollow inside but sturdy. Perfect for fall decoration! This item starts as a lump of clay that is thrown on the wheel. I then use a variety of tools to create ridges, swells, & texture. Each one is allowed to dry for a few days & then fired to prepare it for glazing. After glazing it is then fired again to create a smooth, glassy finish in vibrant colors. Since these handmade items are not mass produced there may be small imperfections, bumps, wrinkles, & drips. These are not uncommon & I see them as giving the pieces unique character.
