Beautiful Quality 19th Century Style Secretaire Sideboard. It's a great looking secretaire with working keys & green leather inlaid desk area Not sure what type of wood but possibly burr walnut. Quality dovetail hinges & lovely brass fittings The Secretaire A French term for a type of bureau desk in translation a 'secretary'. Like a bureau, it has a drop front that pulls out to reveal a writing surface, small drawers & pigeonholes. Its front, however, is usually disguised as a drawer which, when let down, is supported on semicircular brass slides known as quadrants. The secretaire may have either cupboards or drawers beneath the writing desk.
