Description
A cocktail cabinet with vinyl record storage from the 1960s mid century, this converted Pye radiogram is a very cool retro piece in black & bronze. The top door pulls down with the bronze coloured handle & the lid automatically lifts up at the same same. On the back of the lid there are three yellow cocktail pins. To the left side there is the original Pye radiogram frontage tuner, non working & display only, with the high gloss wood finish & chrome tuner knobs. To the right side is a mirrored base cocktail preparation area or wine glass storage section with an led strip light which has several colour options. The light turns on & off & plugs into the mains from the back. On the back of the pull down door there is another mirrored wipe clean drinks preparation area. Below this the central section has a gold fabric mesh frontage with three black original wooden uprights. The right side door opens to reveal a vinyl record storage are with three sections, & a further storage area above this for cd's etc. The left side door opens into a large storage cupboard capable of storing numerous drinks bottles (space for approx 28!) at full height. The cupboard goes in & around behind the gold mesh frontage. The cabinet stands on strong steel three prong hairpin legs bringing it up to date with a retro style. The cupboard doors have bronze coloured hexagonal shaped knobs. The whole piece has been professionally painted in a durable VOC & toxin free black & bronze mineral paint then finished & sealed with a flat clear wax for extra durability & effect with some bronze retro stripes for added interest. The inside has also been painted in the same black mineral paint & sealed. The base of the record storage cabinet section has a turquoise coloured baize base to look after the vinyls, as has the storage section above this. The back of both doors has been given a retro print then decoupaged & sealed with a water based clear matt sealer giving a durable finish.
