This listing is for a delightful Small Vintage Meat Dish/Platter featuring the iconic Asiatic Pheasants design. The makers mark of K & Co is for Keeling & Co who were active from 1886-1936. PLEASE NOTE: The price is for dish & does not include any other items shown in my photos. The Asiatic Pheasants transfer printed china pattern is a quintessentially English design inspired by an oriental original. It was made by many of the English potters & by 1880 had achieved universal popularity. It was the most popular dinnerware pattern of the Victorian era; its production & popularity coinciding with the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901). It remains as popular today as it was then & as a lover of blue & white china I can understand why! This dish is oval in shape resting on three moulded feet. The dish is shaped to allow a piece of meat to be placed & carved on it & for the juices to drain into the recess of the dish. The transfer ware pattern remains clear & bright & it looks as if it has hardly ever been used. Please see my photos in close up for more details as they make up an important part of the description. Each dish measures 29 cm x 23.5 cm & stands at approximately 4 cm high. It is heavy & weighs over 1 kg. They would look stunning on display in your kitchen or dining room & could still be used, although obviously not in the dishwasher or microwave! The soft blue & aged patina makes it a truly delightful piece. The perfect gift for a lover of blue & white china as I am!
