This unusual elephant candlestick is probably from the 1930s or 1940s & it is in very nice condition. Nicely made of brass, all of the connections are solid & it stands securely & properly. I could not find a makers mark. The elephants, trunks, & even tails are etched & decorated, & there is wear to the elephant backs right where hands would lift & touch & move the candlestick, attesting to its age. The compact candlestick is 5 1/8 tall & it is about 4 1/8 from tail to tail. It weighs about 1 1/4 pounds, so it has some heft. It will accept a candle 7/8 in diameter.
