Exquisite vintage candlestick in solid pewter with a round base & very elegant design. It was made by the renowned English Pewter manufacturer John Somers in Brazil, as indicated by the various hallmarks, & dates from the second half of the twentieth century. It is a high-quality replica of a 17th-century English candlestick in the collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, as indicated in the original catalogue (see last picture). The original candlestick can be found pictured here: https://collections.vam.ac.uk/item/O378051/candlestick/. It is a rare & collectable item, which would stand out in any setting. It is in good vintage condition, with normal signs of wear & use commensurate with age, including some wonderful patina contributing to its retro charm. They measure approximately H17cm x D9.5cm, & weighs around 450g. (Candles not included.)
