Sholm stoneware vase, design Einar Johansen for Sholm, Denmark 1964 Mid Century Modern design Sholm stentj, designer: Einar Johansen. Blue glaze on brown stoneware. This vase is part of the EJ 64, designed in the 1960s. The model number of the vase is 3321 All pieces from this series have a wonderful deep blue glaze developed by Svend Aage Jensen with brown accents shining through, combined with contrasting dark grey/brown parts with a nice matte glaze Height of the vase: 11 cm. Width: 6 cm. Depth: 5 cm. Weight: 210 grams. We have more than one available. The Sholm ceramics factory was founded in 1835 in Rnne on the Danish Island of Bornholm. It was closed in 1996. During its existence the Sholm factory produced many iconic & highly collectable pieces. Main designers for Sholm where Noomi Backhausen , Einar Johansen, Maria Philippi , Paul Brandborg, Rigmor Nielsen, Josef Simon, Gerd Hjort Petersen & Per Rehfeldt Most post 1964 pottery from Sholm is stoneware (stentoj in Danish).
