Description

A large tri coloured Art Deco mirror, silver, green & light peach/pink. It is made up of 14 separate sections, the centre section is has eight separate pieces, each with a small bevelled edge. The top two sections are cut in an arched shape & have a deep scalloped edge. The centre section gives the impression of an arched leaded window. Working out from the centre mirror are two wide light peach/pink sections, these have a rear etched sinuous floral pattern along their length. The top edge of these sections have a deep scalloped edge too. The next two sections working outwardly are two green mirrored sections, They are a deep green a colour synonymous with period deco mirrors. They add a further touch of elegance to this large mirror. The outer two sections are plain silver mirror which is a little unique on these mirrors, they are wide & have the deep scalloped top edge that completes the great top edge on this mirror. The silver outer section & green mirrored pieces are mounted to provide a lower edge at the bottom & is a design that is seen on some deco mirrors. There are no chips & no deep scratches on any of the pieces. There are a couple of nibbles, however these are no visible & are under a retaining clip. There is some good patina on this mirror with minor silver loss on some of the individual plates. Reflectivity is with some minor foxing in a couple of places. None of the above detracts from the overall quality appearance of this original mirror, they are found on period pieces of this age. All 14 sections are mounted on a wooden backboard, the side & lower section of the mirror is attached by traditional metal clips. The top section are secured with quality claw clips.
