Description
Kai Klinge (1925-2000) was a Danish ceramicist & visual artist known for his versatility & sense of modern design. He started his career as a ceramicist in the 1960s at E&J Keramik, which was run by Eva & Johannes Andersen, but in the 1970s he founded his own workshop, Oreby Keramik A/S, in Oreby near Vordingborg. Klinge often worked together with Karin Dieckmann Hegner, & they developed a series of unique ceramic works that combined classical techniques with modern expressions. His ceramics are characterized by a simple, Scandinavian style with the use of natural materials & glazes, which often had matte surfaces & subdued color tones. The lamp has been rewired including new switch & plug. Good vintage condition. SIZE: Diameter widest point : 15,0 cm / 5,9 in. Diameter bottom : 14,0 cm / 5,5 in. Lamp base height: 24,0 cm / 9,5 in.
