A beautiful, elegant & impressive Victorian carved mahogany hall chair in wonderful condition. Made from beautifully toned solid mahogany, this stunning chair is ideal both as a hallway, bedroom or occasional chair & as a decorative antique that will add historic quality & charm to any setting. Featuring extremely impressive carving to chair back with decorative flame veneers to the solid mahogany back panel & a central shield carving, a large single-piece seat with detailing & a shapely front edge over a lovely curved apron, with splayed back legs & exquisitely sculpted cabriole front legs with ball-and-claw feet. This is a very fine chair that will impress whether amongst similarly elegant period pieces or as a standout piece in more contemporary interiors. CONDITION This is in very good condition, especially for a chair approaching its second century. Structurally sound & solid, there's no wobble & it can be used perfectly as an everyday chair. There are some minor marks & knocks as you'd expect from a chair of its age but overall this is a special piece in wonderful condition - please see the photos.
