Thanks so very much for your patience & happy shopping!! xx R&R xx A superb Victorian antique ginger jar Beautifully aged with gorgeous crazed detailing Stoneware with a delicate pale blue oriental pattern Produced c1880s-1900 of Chinese origin in perfectly imperfect antique condition ready to use, gift or display! Why I think you'll love it: This lovely old stoneware jar has just such a beautiful crazed finish, with aged staining & a delicate oriental pattern. It would be wonderful filled with fresh or dried flowers of simply displayed as a rustic accent in its own right. Good to know: Chinese jars such as this pretty example, were originally exported to the west originally containing ginger. They were then re-used to store salt, spices, herbs & oils all of which were expensive items of their day. Condition: It is in very good condition given its age & years likely buried underground. It has lovely surface crazing & pronounced discolouration to one of its sides, resulting in a patchwork of darker crazed lines. Its pale blue pattern is delicate throughout. It is free of chips or damage & would make a super rustic display piece or vase. Approximate Measurements: 9.5cm H / 5cm W (at rim) / 10cm (at widest point of body) The Small Print: All the items I stock have had a unique & interesting past, are pre-loved & so it is very important to note that these are not sold 'as new'.
