Oushak rugs made by weavers living in Andkhoy, both cities located in the Northern regions of Afghanistan. These rugs depict the old Turkish Oushak patterns now revived by our Afghan weavers in new colour palettes for our current tastes. The handspun wool is dyed using traditional vegetable & local dye recipes before the wool pile is knotted onto a woollen warp. Because these are all wool with thick knots the rugs are very soft, almost fluffy & pliable in feel.
