Description

Attractive, antique drop-leaf table/sideboard. Turned bobbin legs make up a solid base frame. Pull-out supports from underneath the top support the drop leaf sides to create a larger table top. The table is from the Edwardian period & has an ebonized patina, meaning the wood has a black finish. The process used iron dissolved in vinegar as a darkening agent. The ferric acetate reacts with the tannin in the wood, forming a black substance layering the top of the wood. Versatile unit that can be used as a sideboard when not in use as a table. Condition report- in good/used condition, few marks here & there commensurate with age & use. Dimensions are approximately Length 89cm Width 42/117.5cm Height 72.5cm Please be aware that this item does show signs of use but that is to be expected considering its age & does add authenticity to the item.
