One gorgeous raspberry pitcher - the perfect watering can for small houseplants, gravy boat, or handmade creamer. Each pink pitcher will match all of the other pieces in the Raspberry Set (links below!) Every piece of handcrafted pottery is made by my husband & I in our Ohio studio. Each ceramic pitcher is beautifully unique & perfectly imperfect just like us. If you are buying pieces to create a set - each piece of pottery will match, but all will vary from each other with brilliant uniqueness that is the hallmark of handmade. Each ceramic pitcher is built from flat slabs of clay & not wheel thrown. During the kiln firing process they can warp slightly out of round, or off center. This is not considered a defect, but instead it makes each pitcher unique & interesting. Each handled water pitcher is about 10-12 fluid ounces 5 - 6 inches tall to the spout 3.75 - 4.25 inches long at the base 1.75 - 2.25 inches wide at the base Color is something that is hard to show on a computer screen as each screen shows color based on the factory settings. Each raspberry dish in the raspberry set is first glazed in a lead free raspberry glaze that varies in color from a white pink to deep wine raspberry that sits deep into the textured surface. Each cup is then dipped in purple to give the rim a pop of matt grape purple. Finally a squeeze bottle is used to add glaze in drips & lines over the purple rim that is icy blue in spots, & pink in others. It is hard to predict how the drippy glaze will look! It is always fun to be surprised. The overall look of the raspberry pottery is stunning! We use only stoneware clay in our ceramic handbuilding process. Stoneware is very durable & can go in the dishwasher or microwave. That's right it is microwave safe & dishwasher safe! The pottery will warm in the microwave & when filled with hot food, so please handle it with care. Stoneware is not safe for open flames or for the thermal shock of ovens or stove tops. Stoneware clay is fired to such a high temperature the clay is forced to vitrify- which doesn't allow any water to soak in. This makes the bare clay food safe.
