Here is a lovely antique 1920s Japanese export raw silk robe with a beautifully soft & subtle colour palette of the palest blues & greens with pale orange highlights. There are landscape scenes to the back of the robe with flowers & bridges. This is a one-size garment so will fit a variety of sizes, the length when laid flat is 42.5 inches & from underarm to underarm across is 27 inches. The sleeve length from the underarm seam to the end of the sleeve is 13 inches. This beautiful antique garment comes to you after hand washing with traditional Savon de Marseille soap & it has been outdoor line dried ready to wear. The condition is very good overall, with some signs of its age to. the silk fabric. There is a small hole to the front left towards the bottom of the robe which measures approximately 1 cm across (this is the most noticeable), a small hole to bottom right towards the hem, a tiny hole towards the bottom of the robe & a hand stitched seam repair measuring approx 3 inches long to the left hand side at the bottom of robe. These points can be seen in photo 10 on the listing. There is a small repair to the seam line by the neck at front right hand side & a seam line repair at back neck & under the right arm. There is a small hole to the back of the robe & when it is held up against a strong light there is some very minor thinning of the silk towards the back centre which is a natural characteristic of this type of old, raw silk.
