This is a one of a kind, hand made, hand built from scratch unique ceramic planter. I make a few items a week in very small batches in my tiny back garden studio. It was freezing cold last week, so instead of using my potter's wheel I made hand built pots indoors! I made three planters: small, medium & large. This one is the large one & it is 6.5" high & 6.5" wide on one side, but only 6" wide on the other! Basically it's wonky! It is quite chunky & heavy & will cost a bit more than usual to post. It is hand textured & looks like a cross between barnacles & dragon scales! I actually made the texture by pressing lace into the clay then rolling it up & forming it around the base; adding buttons - four - two each on opposite sides. I then made & attached four round feet. After drying it was bisque fired for 24 hours. After cooling I hand painted it inside & out with a variety of high quality Botz glazes in shades of purple, green, blue, brown & white. I then added more texture & a transparent top coat. It was then returned to the kiln for a second time for 24 hours. It would be lovely full of succulents or cacti or flowers. You could put a plant pot in it or soil, or something to stand the plants in. It would make a lovely present for a gardener. Alternatively, you could put something different in it - paintbrushes, kitchen implements, pretty shells & stones, crystals, or you could keep it for storage of other kinds or simply as a piece of sculpture around the house, to create that country cottage, bohemian style.
