This vintage cherry wood bowl features a tulip shaped form with a larger base than top, a flat lip across the mouth, deep vertical grain lines & a small foot at the base. This piece was a collaboration between John Mcleod of The Vermont Bowl Company & Williams Sonoma. Bottom is marked A John Mcleod Design (includes signature) Care Instructions: wash in warm, soapy water, rinse, & dry thoroughly. Avoid extremes of temperature. Do not use scouring pads. Never put in dishwasher. Never soak. Created Exclusively for Williams-Sonoma by Vermont, U.S.A. Dimensions: Exterior - 9.5 Mouth Diameter x 8.25 Base. 5 Tall Interior - 8.5 Diameter x 4.75 Tall Holds about 18-20 cups Condition: in very nice condition! There is some discoloration on wood of the bowl's interior on the base & side. Being made of natural materials, please do expect some variance or minor natural imperfections in the wood. Overall, a gorgeous bowl. See pictures. About the Maker: John began woodturning at the age of 10. in the 1960's his plan to emigrate to Canada was abandoned when he visited & fell in love with Vermont during a visit. Setting up in a borrowed shop for creating his wooden wares, he eventually expanded into the present-day, 15,000 square foot facility in Wilmington, VT.
