Crystal Waters This handcrafted piece of original abstract textile art is inspired by the ocean. The fabric artwork is a fresh take on an aerial view seascape painting or photograph. This whimsical piece is constructed with layers of various types of fabrics (cotton, tulle, organza & chiffon). As the organza catches light, it appears as if the 'sun is reflecting off the water'. The art is intended to be dimensional. I love that the layers are not all sewn flat, which literally allows the art to have that dimension. I sew each layer as I go, creating layer after layer. As part of my process, I have heat -set some of the edges of the layers, giving it a beautiful sense of movement as the material curls. This is not your standard sewing or quilting; there are patterns to follow. It is meant to be abstract. As the artist, I let the piece speak to me as I make it & as the owner, I hope you will let it speak to you :) What makes textile art unique is its intention to be dimensional. Unlike other forms of art, such as painting or drawing, textile art involves the use of fabric, thread, & various other materials to create three-dimensional pieces. I love to explore texture, depth, & form in my work, creating a tactile experience for the viewer. The use of different techniques, such as adding the beading within the sand, adds another layer of complexity & richness to the art form. Textile art invites the viewer to not only see the artwork but also to touch & interact with it, making it a truly immersive & engaging medium. This truly unique piece is perfect for your home or to give as a gift. Everyone wants to escape into a seascape! The art will come FRAMED - meaning, you will receive the: 1) Fabric Artwork (which is backed with a firm iron-on fusible interfacing material that gives it sturdiness, then mounted onto foam core board & then onto cold-pressed watercolor paper). the foam core board elevates the artwork the watercolor paper is a natural color & is textured, which adds a beautiful touch to the framing process 2) A WHITE Frame; The overall frame size is 8.8 x 8.8 inches; the frame can be rested or hung. Due to the elevation of the artwork, I do not have the frame glass on the exterior of the piece. The frame will be shipped with the original frame glass, in case you ever choose to change the mounting of the art. Due to variations with photography & computer screens, variations in colors may occur The art is created in my smoke-free, pet-free home studio Due to the nature of the fabrics used, some edges will fray. I feel like that is what makes this piece so special :) I have heat-set the exterior edges of the piece to help minimize fraying as much as possible & finish the look. The frame was purchased. The artwork is handcrafted. The artwork is mounted onto the watercolor paper using fabric adhesive (adhesive stability may alter based on humidity & area climate). in an effort to keep shipping costs free to you & be mindful of the environment,
