PAIR SILVER PLATED BAROQUE CANDLESTICKS A 19th century pair of Baroque style silver plated candlesticks, probably continental, with circular bases & round columns, decorated with grape & vine gadrooning. Both have removable bobeches (candle wax drip trays). There is green felt on the bases. Inside the top of one column is a maker's mark of a duck shape, but as yet, not identified. (Any dark marks are just shadow reflections when taking the photos). Age: 19th century Condition: One column is slightly shorter than the other, but not very noticeable, & can be adjusted by raising the bobeche slightly on the shorter one. The candlesticks retain a good level of silver plate for their age. There are some small minor dents around the base edge. Some wear to the patterned gadrooning on the bases through polishing - which actually shows how thick the silver plate is, as no base metal is showing through.
