Description
Antique sterling silver sauce spoon, Georgian silver condiment spoon, James Wintle 1820 This is a superb sterling silver sauce/condiment spoon by silversmith James Wintle. It's in extremely good condition for its age as the pictures hopefully show. It is hallmarked to the back with JW, the lion passant for English sterling silver & the date letter e. There is no city mark, but from my research it looks like this was made in London in 1820. The spoon is just under 10cm in length & the oval head is just over 2.5cm at its widest point. There is a small dent on the back of the head visible in photo 8 & the hallmarks are a little worn but still readable. Other than this its a really lovely piece of antique silverware. The only thing I've not yet been able to find is eco-friendly clear tape used for attaching shipping labels, so if you're aware of any such thing please let me know where I can find it. I'd love to be able to offer 100% eco-friendly packaging! Antique Sterling Silver Sauce Spoon, Georgian Condiment James Wintle 1820
