Etsy - StudioPaintedPoppy Antique Blue & White Pitcher | 1900S Dutch Ceramic Water Jug Vase With Ivy Pattern Vintage Transferware Kitchen Decor
Description
Antique pitcher or water jug made in the Netherlands in the early 1900s. A beautiful cobalt blue ivy design decorates this lovely pitcher. It will look amazing in a vintage interior or country style kitchen! The pitcher was produced by Petrus Regout in Maastricht. The Petrus Regout factory established in 1834 & grew out to be the largest producer of ceramics in The Netherlands. The items made by this Dutch factory have become real collectibles, especially the pieces produced in the early years. This beautiful pitcher is decorated with the blue 'Klimop' (ivy) decor. It is manufactured around 1904. At this time a different production process was used than in the 1800s which is visible in this pitcher. When you look at the belly, you can see a line running right trough the middle. It shows where the two halves of the mold came together. The pitcher is marked on the bottom with R blind mark by the Petrus Regout factory. The pitcher is in a good vintage condition, with light traces of use. Two lines are visible in the rim. There is some craquel in the glaze just above the lower part of the handle. The paint of decorations is a little worn in some spots.
