Description
This is a ghost with a bat hat & a bats on the base in speckled white clay & glossy white glaze. The piece is hand formed & shaped out of a slab of clay, the decoration added & then left to dry. When it is dry, the decoration is painted with underglaze & it goes through the first firing. Next, it gets either a clear glaze on the outside or possibly a color, depending on what the piece is. It measures 7 1/4 inches tall by 3 1/2 inches wide. These are designed to stand alone or to build a collection. I have shown one photo with a soda can to give you an idea of the size & another with my hand holding it. One photo might show a collection of pieces but this one is for the ghost in the bat hat Please be aware that I use different colors of white glaze on these ghosts. They could be a matte white or a glossy white so if you want the glaze to match please check the photos & descriptions. There are also different kinds of clay, white speckled or even brown. What clay is used will be in the title & description. This style of ceramic is made from a slab of clay & then rolled into a cone. Then I alter it to form the body pushing out the sides & sometimes add a decoration. Some pieces have underglaze hand painted on the outside for detail & are clear glazed while others just get coated in colored glaze. I like them to be whimsical & fun so I tend to play loose with shapes & colors. No one piece is ever exactly like the next, so they are all original & one of a kind. I believe in recycling all of my packaging materials as to save on waste. What is inside the box is really pretty but the outside might be a box & packing paper I have received from someone else. I try & double box all of my pieces as much as possible for protection so they will also be heavier than normal. Since everything I create is one of a kind, I try & keep it as safe as I can while it is traveling to its new home. Import duties & other charges are not included in the shipping cost.
