A stunning antique or vintage Arts & Crafts solid brass chamber stick made by Joseph Sankey & Sons sometime around the turn of the early 20th century. This lovely Wee Willie Winkie style candle stick holder is very typical of the Arts & Crafts movement in it's style. It features a flower type surround & a loop is fashioned on the side of the of the holder which is it's handle. It has a base stamp which reads Made in England, J.S&S, Solid Brass & measures approximately 4.5cm/2 high & 15cm/6 at it's widest point. This piece has various dints, scratches & a slight nick on one edge but I think that this adds to its character, age & beauty. It also has a lovely, natural patina. Joseph Sankey & Son was founded in 1890-1980 in Bilston near Wolverhampton & was well known for its copper & brassware. A lovely find for any lover of the Arts & Craft movement. Filled with a candle, it will bring a beautiful, flickering light to any room in the house.
