Superior Silver Plated Quadruple sugar bowl & creamer set is an antique Victorian original. It has no major defects, no plate loss, just tarnish, but we prefer to leave the polishing decisions to the new owners. Some people really like their patina intact. If you want the set nice & shiny, just drop me a line with your purchase! I will gladly shine it up for you, I can do it in 5 minutes, trust me. What makes this cute little set really interesting is the story behind the manufacturing company that made it in the turn of the last century. It started as Wilcox Silver Plate Co in Connecticut, USA. It was one of the original companies that became part of International Silver Company in 1898. Immediately afterwards (1899) Middletown Silver Plate was closed & the production transferred to Wilcox factory. Superior Silver Co was a Middleton trademark manufactured by Wilcox. We happen to have in our shop a little silver plated teapot (see the last two pictures). It is stamped Middletown, but they obviously are related. The teapot is listed separately for $90.
