Featuring a charming floral design in shades of deep red & soft blue on a natural cotton ground, this textile showcases exquisite craftsmanship typical of the period. The scalloped hemline adds a delicate touch, while the detailed floral motifs reflect the beauty of 18th-century French design. Likely used for a valance for bedding ( this is a fragment of a much larger valance) A fabric like this would have originally been prized for its durable weave & intricate patterns, which were often block-printed by hand using natural dyes.
