The 'Storm Chaser' is based on the traditional form of collapsible Waxed Cotton Sou'westa rain hat that is longer in the back than the front to protect the neck fully. The hat has a roll up brim at the front which works like a gutter whilst keeping the face clear. The brim extends down the back, bridging & protecting the neck. The 'Storm Chaser' is the perfect choice for women who have to be out in the worst weather but want to be looking their best. Because the brim is large there are added ties to offer security during windy days. Made from Antique Finish British Waxed Cotton, it has an authentically aged appearance that gives the lived in look that is much sought after. The Antique Finish distresses over time & develops a soft sheen reminiscent of a well worn leather, a resilient fabric that gains character as it ages. It can be re waxed time & again. This is a hat that wears in, not wears out. The Brim width at the front is 11cm sweeping to 15.5cm at the back. The hat weighs 255 grams. There is an elasticated hat band inside for comfort, & it is fully lined with cotton.
