Description
The Native Vessel series was inspired by my first adventure in the American Southwest, traveling through New Mexico, Arizona, & Utah, I was awed & inspired by the colors, textures, & patterns that filled the landscape. The desert holds a perfect & natural balance between lifelessness & living vibrancy -Edward Abbey, Desert Solitaire The vase is blown glass that incorporates color glass chips & powders in hues of white, gray & black glass with a blue lip accent & a white interior, which highlights the exterior pattern & gives the interior a nice translucently. After the glass is blown it is then sandblasted to give the piece a matte finish, the etched surface allows the viewer to a see the subtle details on the surface of the piece. The vase is approx. 4 tall x 5 wide. NOTE: The vase in the photograph is a sample, each piece is made to order, so each one is unique & colors & patterns will vary slightly.
