This Nipa Hut Capiz Table Lamp is a truly unique & one of a kind Philippine treasure. We only have a few left & none will be subsequently made. The Nipa Hut, Kamalig, or Bahay Kubo is a stilt house indigenous to the Philippines. They are still prevalent today in many rice fields & rural areas. The base & coconut tree are hand carved from Philippine Mahogany uprooted trees during the Great Yolanda Typhon of November 8, 2013. This traditional Nipa Hut & coconut palm tree branches are made from Capiz Shells indigenous to the waters off the shore of Roxas City, Capiz, Panay Island. Each Capiz Shell is dried, washed, hand cut, wrapped in brass & soldiered together to form the unique designs. The approximate dimensions are 21 inches high & 20 inches wide. The base is 9 3/4 inches long; 6 inches deep & 3/4 inches high. The electric cord is 6 feet long & comes with a slide switch. A 4 watt white bulb is also included. There are 8 Capiz Shell branches each measuring approximately 9 inches long with 31 Capiz Shell fronds (leaves). The center Plume is Approximately 10 inches high with 6 Capiz Shell leaves. The Nipa Hut is approximately 7 inches high with the roof measuring 7 inches square. Since these are uniquely & exquisitely hand made by different artisans, no two are exactly the same.
