Range: Old Tupton Ware Vase Round 6 Tube Lined Pottery Each Vase Sold Separately Suitable for Fresh Flowers, Dried Flowers or Silk Flowers Height 6 / 15cm Width 6 / 15cm Depth 2 / 5cm Colour; multi-coloured For use in bedroom, living room, dining room kitchen Patterns; Snowdrop, Noon, Summer Bouquet, Blue Iris, Yellow Poppy Dawn or Lavender What is Old Tupton Ware Unlike a lot of potteries that have closed the demand for old tupton ware far outweighs the quantity we can produce, as its has to go through so many quality control checks before it is passed ready for sale Old Tupton Ware tomorrow's most collectable antiques First they form the shape of the pot by pouring slip clay into a mould, once dry it can be removed from the mould. The clay is then cleaned & prepared for firing in the kiln at 800C One of our highly skilled workers can trace the pattern onto the pot, this has taken many years of training to perfect the art, & we only use the best artists to do this. The tube lining is then applied, it is then is placed back in the kiln & fired again at 800C What is Tube lining; it's a technique of ceramic decoration. It involves squeezing a thin line of clay body through a nozzle onto the ware being decorated. A bit like icing a cake Once the pot has cooled The pot is then hand painted by skilled craftsmen then left to dry, once dried a gloss glaze is applied & the pot is fired this time at 1100C. The last process: the pot then has to pass its final quality control inspection, & only then does it get gift boxed ready for sale Round Vase 6
