Beautifully ornate hand-carved book slide, made from solid wood, in a floral & foliate design. Stamped 'India' on the base. Expands out until the two interlocking parts come away from each other. The book ends are hinged to the base, to fold down for easier storage. This lovely ornate vintage shelf ornament would make a lovely addition to a library, shop display and/or rustic boho styled decor. MEASUREMENTS: (Zoom in photos) All measurements are approximate & in centimetres. Folded closed: 35.5 x 13 x 3cm Open (without coming apart): up to 58 x 16 x 13cm CONDITION: (Zoom in photos) Used vintage - very good overall, functional. The hinges are slightly rusted. Minor surface wear, scuffs, marks, knots etc in the wood. Hinged sides are little loose on the base. Expanding the shelf is a little stiff as expected.
