A chromolithographic art print of a painting by Waldo Sargeant. The print is of the Gateway at Christ's Hospital, Newgate Street, City of London & dated 1883. This was also called The Blue Coats School, founded in 1553 by Edward VI for 'poor fatherless children'. Children continued to wear the same style uniform as introduced in the 1500s. There is an original oil painting in the Art, Mirrors & Frames section of this shop featuring a scholar wearing this uniform The print has beige, black & blue/grey tones, is glazed in a portrait orientation & there is a string on hooks ready-fixed for hanging Height: 36 cm (14in) Width: 32cm (12.5in) Depth: 2cm Weight: 920g Condition in very good vintage condition with some tiny signs of wear to the frame.
