Description
This is a handsome large antique chest which dates to the 19th century. Made of solid pine it is fairly large & heavy & could serve a variety of purposes in any home. It lends its self well to use as a large blanket box at the foot of a bed or perhaps has a coffee table with hidden storage. The chest has a deep top which opens to reveal a clean interior. To either end is an aged black metal handle & the chest is set on a deep base plinth. The wood has a darkly waxed finish which is quite smooth & matt. CONDITION This piece is in solid structural condition with many minor cosmetic marks of age & use. The plinth has some old wood worm holes which have been treated as a precaution. The lock is broken & the metal handles are well aged. MEASUREMENTS height - 59.5cms width - 96.5cms depth - 53.5cms The measurements are taken at the widest points.
