Beautiful antique pine wooden chest. For sale we have a beautiful pine wooden chest, probably originally used as a workman’s tool box to carry with the tools of his livelihood. The lovely square shape & rustic waxed finish gives the box a lovely rustic farmhouse style, making it ideal for weddings ( as a wedding chest/ marriage chest) or in pride of place in your living room storing all manner of things. The box is an unusual size. With it being a compact-sized trunk, this could be perfect for use in a child's room, to store their things in - it could also act as a small seat - with obvious use as storage too! The box is made from large piece of pine & is solidly constructed. This box has also recently undergone a refurbishment too & so is in great vintage condition. The woodgrain is on show for all to see. This has then been treated with a wood nourishing balsam, waxed & buffed up to a subtle glow. There is protective skirting to the base. Another possible use for this is as a plant stand, in a recess or nook of your home - or as a side table which tucks neatly next to a chair or sofa. The box is approximately 120 years old & is fantastic condition for it's age, with only very minor age-related wear. When you purchase this box, you are purchasing a fully handmade item, made by a Victorian craftsman with hand tools & expert knowledge, garnered over many years' of training. The fact that this box has survived for so long is testament to its quality & its durable construction ensures that this will most likely last for another hundred years.
